This weekend was exciting not only for USA indoor pilots because of ETOC, European guys also had chance to compete in last big and serious F3P competition of this season. We just back from Belgium, Mons , this time Lithuania team was only from two pilots, me and my good friend Ricardas Siumbrys. It was long trip and sometimes is to difficult to prepare everything for more persons. We are very happy with result we achieve!
F3P-AM participants and winners. First Benoit, second Derk, third Donatas.
F3P-Sport winners. Ricardas Siumbrys took third place!
Man what a competition it was, great helpful people, very friendly atmosphere, allot of space to fly and pure fun both days. That's why we love competitions in Belgium! Officially this year competition was test before next year first official Europe F3P championship, it should be held in same place on April 9-12 of 2008 year. In this year competition was nice people from FAI that watch how contest was organized and what should be changed till next year. There was ~ 25 pilots from Belgium, France, Netherlands and Lithuania, sad but this year we miss pilots from Czech and Germany. I'm sure competition would get much more attention if it was held in winter, its strange to make indoor competition when outside sun is shining and weather is 27 degree by C..:) But as we heard rent of such huge hall is very expensive, and only in summer it become cheaper. Also this year ETOC took some top pilots from Europe. One thing we would like to see changing in future is number of rounds and small details in judging. We had chance to talk with Van Der Vecht's how competition is organized in other countries, and it would be wise to have more rounds in first day, and to make first "practice" round for judges and pilots without points would be great. That way judges could warm up and see all real situation and pilots level before giving points. In any case Judging is really hard job and i think this time it was done really well, also everyone should appreciate organizers work, after each flight no more than 10 minutes and you get your points, same system on each round, this show hi level. Here is most interesting part, Videos:
