 Update: MR. Dave send me video of his demo flight with Deluxe, enjoy;

 Download hi quality video here. For more videos/pictures from contest click here.

My good friend from USA, Mr. David Lockhard (top F3A pilot), send me great news, using my designed F3P-A pattern plane Deluxe he won local F3P contest in USA. Here is his story and few pictures:

KIEF indoor festival is over.  1st year of event, and 75 pilots.  Nonstop flying from 8AM Saturday to 5PM Sunday.  Small F3P contest Sunday morning for A and B sequences.  I do not know exact results, but I was 1st in F3P-A with Deluxe.  Perfect start for me, many pattern contests as you know, but my first F3P-A contest – I think I will retire now, and be undefeated!!!

David milled Deluxe with JR9303 2.4ghz radio.

Very large flying place – only problem was wind and turbulence – heaters cycle on/off to blow hot air to keep building at about 18C – at night it was cold, about 2C.

Deluxe is flying very well, and I am learning the plane.  Last Sunday, I made 12 flights in Lakehurst Hangar (HUGE flying site), and Wednesday, I fly 7 times in very small (to me anyway) gym which is 25x18 meters x 15.5 tall, and maybe 5 practice flights at KIEF before the F3P contest (I have video of one flight, file size is also large).

For F3P at KIEF, my opponents flew FF milled Vantage (very light, maybe 125 grams and Clik! (140 grams).  Deluxe and Vantage are slower flying than Clik!, but Deluxe gets faster in downlines, and Vantage is very slow in downlines. I think the Deluxe is very smooth and stable in the air, and because is so big, it looks very nice.  Because of wind from the heaters, it was better to fly a little faster.  I have not put landing gear fairing or rounded leading edge on the Deluxe yet – I will do this, and also consider options to make the downline slower – right now, I have added small brake on back of the rudder, but do not have as much drag brakes on the elevator.

Probably most popular indoor pattern design by Mr. David Kyjovsky "Click" already counting third years of flying.

For Saturday and Sunday, KIEF has demos at lunch – each day I flew the Deluxe to show F3P and some freestyle.  Many people ask about where the plane is from, how to get the kits, and when it will be available.

Special thanks to David, for article and top Deluxe representation!!!

For all people that are interested in getting Deluxe for new indoor season, i have good news, right now i make small changes for design, to make plane better suited for more difficult F3P-09 sequence , affter that it will be released by Extreme Flight RC (hopefully untill new year.)

F3P 09 sequence (modiffied version) flown in Mons Expo 2008 competition.

Aresti diagram of this sequence can be found here. At the moment its not official, since FAI did not aprove it, but in some countries like Netherland decission was made to fly it in 2009 year season competitions, since sequence proposed by FAI is not flyable in regular sport gym.
