Crazy weekend!
Tuesday, 19 February 2008
 Last weekend was really interesting for me and my friend/helper Vladimir. It was crazy plan, to visit two competitions in one weekend...now about 4000km left behind, and allot of good memories from seeing many good RC friends. Here is full story with some pictures and videos;

Group picture beffore demo flight , (from L to R) Martin Muler, Julia Biermann, Me , Derk van Der Vecht.

We came to Bleicherode (about 1400km from Vilnius) on Friday evening. My plan was to qualify to 2008 German F3P championship and on Saturday evening drive another 600km to Aalst, F6B contest. Normally qualification for German championship is two days event, but organizers promise me to let fly enough rounds to qualify.

Saturday morning view from our hotel window.

Everything was ok except fact that i felt sick when we start trip, on Saturday morning it was worse, i had temperature and really bad cold when we came to hall...

 Very nice gym in Bleicherode.

As organizers told i was allowed to make two flights in first day, so i was able to qualify! Unfortunately in first pattern round i get two 0 for takeoff and landing...i made all turns 90 degree, and turn out that all except first two must be done in 180 degrees... So if not such small mistake even with two rounds i could be in third place in F3P-A. Aeromusical was better, i flew two rounds and both score well, routine was flown not perfect and i still get good points. Now im looking forward to fly in German F3P championship after 5 weeks in Rodinhausen. Overall competitions was organized VERY well, i must say with German quality!

Wise way to transport fragile planes.

Each pilot get same amount of practice flights, time shedule was good prepared, judges made zero round for "warming up" of each class, this improve judging quality! Also i must mention that flying level in Germany is higher than i saw in other countries, all pilots fly good, and only very small mistakes divide pilots.

 B pilots briefing.

Impressive 2m "indoor shocky".

Right after last AM flight we pack our equipment and drive to Aalst "3D college indoor event" F6B competition (another 600km), road was long and difficult, + navigation made some tricks with road blocks;) So we reach hall only 4 hours before door opening...;) After short nap in car...we went to practice.

Interesting competition poster and Sultimate similarity;)

I won all F6B rounds, and first F3P-A (pattern) round. I ended up in first place in F6B and second in pattern, Jacquim flew really well and deserve victory. We had allot of fun meeting again with our good friends Benoit Dierickx, Jens Van Dorpe, Bert Dalaere

Benoit and me.

Sad but points i get in F6B will not be counted to overall standings , since it was national contest. So right now i stand in third place, in WAG F6B class. This result will definitely change since we have allot of international competitions comming.

I would like to say big thank you for Vladimir Mosin and Andrius Bukauskas (president of Lithuania aeromodeling association), for big help durring this trip. Also special thanks goes to Jurgen Heilig and Martin Muler, for helping me to fly both rounds for qualification in first day!!!

2008 season indoor packs from Flight Power!
Thursday, 31 January 2008
My 2008 season indoor packs. From (L to R) Evo20 400 mah, 300 mah and Evo lite 350 mah packs.

When i become Flight power team member i start testing FP lypo batteries. Durring seven months of hard testing i can say Flight power lypo packs show them selves as reliable hi quality products with top performance. As you understand from article title this time i will review smallest packs from FP for indoor flying.

These tiny packs probably are most universal product from Flight Power. My interest is not only F3P and F3A, i also fly with F3K gliders, and 350mah packs have place in every class where i can use them.
Battery is quite small, (58mm/22.6mm/9.6mm) and weight for 350mah capacity pack is very good, only 20g (+-1g). Cells are rated as 18C (6.3A) continuous and up to 28C (9.8A) bursts. Considering that most modern super light indoor motors use no more than 6-8amps, packs can handle indoor flying of any kind with light planes up to 200g with no problem.
With light competition F3P models (from 110g (monoplane) up to 180g (biplane)), 350mah have enough power for secure F3P-A and AM  flight. My current Deluxe weight with lypo pack is 147g (with battery), and with one fresh pack i can fly F3P-A routine 3-4 time with no problem. Depending on how oft you use full throttle/how much Amp's draw your motor and what is plane RTF weight, flying time can be from 5 to 9 minutes on ussual F3P plane.

My best design for indoor pattern to date, Deluxe. New milled Deluxe RTF weight expecting to be about 135g.

My best design for aeromusical to date, SUltimate, this plane RTF weight is 131g with extra servo for special FX.

Special thanks to Jurgen Heilig for videos!

We just came back from Prague Indoor Fest 2008 F6B/F3P competition. It was first international World Air Games selection contest for big WAG event in 2009 in Turin, Italy.
Main goal is achieved i get first points for WAG selection contest in 2009 in Italy, Turin (highest priority FAI event). Competition was really hi level, there was competitors from Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, Hungary and naturally Lithuania;)
One very nice fact that German team include one lady that flew in F3P-A and F6B class. Martin Muller wife Stephanie Schwann, show very nice flying, specialy in synchron flight with Martin. As far as i know she is only one girl that ever flew in Aeromusical durring all young F3P class history, unfortunatelly this time judges was very strict for Stephanie.

One of event sponsors Flight power. Me and Richard Boyd next to SULtimates and second place throphie in Aeromusicals.

As organizers planned two strongest Europe indoor pilots Gernot Bruckmann and Martin Muler came to competition, so already this promise very interesting event. Unfortunately 2007 ETOC champion John Glezellis and Denis Horn could not make it because of studies.

This young gentelmen is not only great pilot, but also very nice and light/clean builder, his Futurion RTF weight is only 115g! Most modellers can learn from this young lad building skills.
