Competition participants;
This time Lithuania team will be bigger than ussual, because of more popular categories like F6D (F3K) and F6A. Here is my friends that will come to Turin;
 Ricardas Siumbrys F6D.
Vitalijus Pilkionis F6D.
Donatas Pampikas - F6D. Evaldas Cerniauskas F6A.
Juozas Svirusis F6D. I heard from organizers that such pilots as; Gernot Bruckman , Lukas Riva , Sebastiano Silvestri , Fabien Turpaud , Filippo Materazzi , Alberto Caralo and many other registered for F6A class, so this guarante amazing show for spectators and hard work for judges. As far as i know this will be first competition ever, where helis will compete with planes in same class. Also quite interesting thing that Silvesti will fly with 3D jet Hawk, yes F6A rulles alow it as well. Make sure visit my homepage after few weeks for full report about Turin test competition! |

Summer and good wethers are almost here so its time for outdoor flying, my first outdoor project for 2008 season is Extreme Flight 58 inch Extra 300.
Few words about my electric Extra setup; Battery; Flight power EVO25 3700mah 5S packs, each of them is about 480-490g with connectors. Motor; Torque Revolution. Prop; APC-E 15x8. Servos, Hitec 225mg on wings, Airtronic 94751 and HS 5245mg on elevator. RTF weight is 2564g.
Such setup have crazy power! I never had plane outdoor plane with such performance! Flight Power lypos are amazing, i set my thr curve on radio to 90 percents, and still i don't need to move stick all way up! Affter 5 cycles of brake in lypo batteries i set timer to 7;30min flying time. After 7;30 quite hard 3D flight i have to charge packS about 3000mah, and packs affter flight are just little warm. Good idea is to put white tape on side of battery to start marking (with marker short line on side of pack) each charging, so i will be able to know and share with you real numbers of cycles/flights i can make with top brand product. My first EF Extra video. Quite windy day, but plane handle wind well. Music in video is Drop kick Murphys - Rocky Road To Dublin and Dire Straits - Brothers In Arms. Most interesting/usseful threads about EF Extra on big forums; RCgroups , RCUniverse, Flying Giants . My own thread on Flying Giants . Great building review on RCgroup. Also don't forget to visit thread on RCUniverse about big 50CC Extra. |

Two weeks ago me and my good friend Ricardas Siumbrys came back from another crazzzzzzzzzy trip, two weekends and two top competitions (2008 German indoor championship and Mons expo), we spend 11 days away from home. Here is full story, we flew to Brussels on Friday evening (03 28). From Belgium (Liege) saturday morning affter few hours drive we reach Germany, Rodinghausen where final competition should be held (by the way in same hall as one of the first 2003 year championship). All top F3P pilots from 7 countries was in place, ready for German F3P championship (oldest and most prestige F3P competition in Europe). I must say competition was organized with German quality, everything went smooth and precise in time! Many planes prepared for practice session. Dutch team, Bert and Dick van Der Vecht. Spectators balcony. Rodinghausen hall. Pilots having fun. Alan Goljevscek and me, Alan is very good pilot from Slovenia, he started flying indoor only 3 months beffore attending to German championship, and flew very interesting AM routine! Alan was also flying with Flight Power EVOlite 350mah packs. Results:

Last weekend was really interesting for me and my friend/helper Vladimir. It was crazy plan, to visit two competitions in one weekend...now about 4000km left behind, and allot of good memories from seeing many good RC friends. Here is full story with some pictures and videos; Group picture beffore demo flight , (from L to R) Martin Muler, Julia Biermann, Me , Derk van Der Vecht.
We came to Bleicherode (about 1400km from Vilnius) on Friday evening. My plan was to qualify to 2008 German F3P championship and on Saturday evening drive another 600km to Aalst, F6B contest. Normally qualification for German championship is two days event, but organizers promise me to let fly enough rounds to qualify. Saturday morning view from our hotel window.
Everything was ok except fact that i felt sick when we start trip, on Saturday morning it was worse, i had temperature and really bad cold when we came to hall... Very nice gym in Bleicherode.
As organizers told i was allowed to make two flights in first day, so i was able to qualify! Unfortunately in first pattern round i get two 0 for takeoff and landing...i made all turns 90 degree, and turn out that all except first two must be done in 180 degrees... So if not such small mistake even with two rounds i could be in third place in F3P-A. Aeromusical was better, i flew two rounds and both score well, routine was flown not perfect and i still get good points. Now im looking forward to fly in German F3P championship after 5 weeks in Rodinhausen. Overall competitions was organized VERY well, i must say with German quality! Wise way to transport fragile planes. Each pilot get same amount of practice flights, time shedule was good prepared, judges made zero round for "warming up" of each class, this improve judging quality! Also i must mention that flying level in Germany is higher than i saw in other countries, all pilots fly good, and only very small mistakes divide pilots. B pilots briefing. Impressive 2m "indoor shocky". Right after last AM flight we pack our equipment and drive to Aalst "3D college indoor event" F6B competition (another 600km), road was long and difficult, + navigation made some tricks with road blocks;) So we reach hall only 4 hours before door opening...;) After short nap in car...we went to practice. Interesting competition poster and Sultimate similarity;) I won all F6B rounds, and first F3P-A (pattern) round. I ended up in first place in F6B and second in pattern, Jacquim flew really well and deserve victory. We had allot of fun meeting again with our good friends Benoit Dierickx, Jens Van Dorpe, Bert Dalaere! Benoit and me. Sad but points i get in F6B will not be counted to overall standings , since it was national contest. So right now i stand in third place, in WAG F6B class. This result will definitely change since we have allot of international competitions comming. Results Interesting AM podium in Bleicherode;) Bleicherode results.
3D college indoor event F6B results. Christophe plane durring AM flight. Videos; F3P-A
F3P-AM
1. Donatas Pauzuolis 2. Derk Van Der Vecht More videos from Aalst will be posted soon. Trip home took about 22h, it was great experience and practice before next multi trip to German F3P championship/Mons Expo (F6B)/Inter Modelbau Dortmund......Life is fun;) I would like to say big thank you for Vladimir Mosin and Andrius Bukauskas (president of Lithuania aeromodeling association), for big help durring this trip. Also special thanks goes to Jurgen Heilig and Martin Muler, for helping me to fly both rounds for qualification in first day!!! |
