Few weeks ago, me my friend Ignas and Vaidas, visited open Belarus F3A championship that was held in Minsk main airfield, that is not only active working today but also have unique museum of different age soviet military planes and helicopters. 
We came to field one day before competition to have some practice on nice prepared F3A field. Strong cross wind made practice quite interesting and more difficult, at the end of the day this practice was very useful because on Saturday morning wind was blowing same direction only stronger. 
Saturday early morning we came to field organizers were already preparing field for competition, and after one practice flight, briefing and opening ceremony we start flights. 
Ready steady go;) Most of the job preparing this great competition was done by our good friend Gregorij Drozd.

Pilots line up for start. Planes. Most of participants flew 2M F3A planes, but there were several different type planes that flew in National class. Unfortunately not all pilots that register before competition show up in field. Sad but Mr. Makarov from Ukraine was not able to fly with us, also several good Belarus pilots were not ready for competition.
My 2010 season F3A plane, Spark Dynamic from Krill models. Plane is powered by AXI 5325/F3A , controlled by Castle Creation Phoenix 85HV, motor battery is Flight tech 4350mah 10s brick. Such setup gave me good power even for strong cross wind. For RX power i use Powerbox Sensor that is connected to two 2s lypo 450mah packs.

Ignas Matulevicius flew his small Vanquish from Extreme Flight and won against few 2 meter planes, this show quality judging where plane size does not matter, only geometry and technical details are important.

Gregorij plane Europa produced in Russia, and powered by Pletenberg . 
Competition was held also in Race class, that have allot of crashes and was entertaining to watch.

Next to Pattern and race, competition was held in copy class as well, unfortunately only few participants show up.

Lithuania team with fantastic person and competition judge Mr. Viktor. 
Pattern Results, for those who don't read Russian language, Both first places in FAI and National classes was won by Lithuanian pilots.

If you will be lucky to meet Mr. Viktor spend few minutes and talk with him, hes all life is connected with aviation, he is not only active modeler, but also was military helicopters and aircraft pilot! 
Most of us remember DOSAF and good times in soviet union airfield when flying was free, and basicly everyone that had wish could fly. Well Belarus is probably last country that still have Dosaf working, during all weekend we could see that airfield work very active, parachute jumps, aerobatic and helicopter flights from morning till late evening, this sure is sign that Minsk airfield is alive. Museum;
Definitely most impressive museum aircraft Mi-26, world largest helicopter.
All aviators known nice lines of working plane AN-2, and we all know this is not small plane, but compared to MI-26 even AN-2 looks tinny;)
